A Little Worried...

Hey, I decided to post this because I have come across a few concerns about my mental health. Nothing really quite serious, only a few things. Lately I have become a tad depressed, I can usually drown it out by drawing and listening to loud music. My friends have also been telling me that I have become more isolated, I do some what realize this. When I get a text I usually jump to the phone, lately I am displeased by needing to speak to someone. I mostly ignore my phone, for the exception of one friend, and those conversations have lately grown annoying as well. I have very mild hallucinations, if you could even call it that. It's just something as simple as a small flash of light, most often something falling in font of me. I also hear things that aren't there, like some one whistling, or sometimes I smell weird things, occasionally will I feel something as well. Another thing is that I have trouble sleeping, I can lay awake for hours, and then always awaken around eight. I also noticed weird things with my hands, sometimes they feel unsteady, like I just drank six cups of coffee. Probably my weirdest thing is speaking to myself. It's odd because I know I am speaking to myself, but continue as if another person was there. I often say my thoughts out loud. My friends and family have told me I have a blank face or staring at nothing, I don't notice it. I also find myself being more paranoid than usual.

So far nothing has really affected my daily life, just odd occurrences. I don't know if this is actually something, or I am just a very special butterfly... O-o

Thanks for reading, I am just looking for an opinion.

-Thanks again...

Those sound like really good causes for concern.

Since it's not effecting your life majorly, I don't think it's any reason to see a doctor about the hallucinations just yet, but if things begin to get worse with the depression, I would definitely make an appointment with your GP and try to see what help is available for you.

Thank you for posting. It would make sense to try to ascertain the cause. Have you been taking or smoking anything unusual recently? I am not being judgemental, just asking.

As humans we can get a bit under the weather and need to see if there is an underlying cause.

Yes you are a special person, and need to be gentle on yourself. At times we all feel a little out of place and may need to get our life back on track, maybe get a new friend or hobby etc.

You say you like drawing, this is great, it is something I am not good at. Maybe pursue this avenue, take some art lessons or try to expand your gift. Put your ideas and thoughts onto paper and feel the satisfaction it can bring.

The world can be a wonderful magical place and can cater to many different people. We all march to the beat of a different drum and this is what makes us special. Expand your horizons and you will feel better for it.

If you feel down, take a little " ME" time and do something you are happy with, we all need to refresh our minds as well as our bodies at times.

Live your life happily, we only get one.

Welcome to the forum. :)

As LionFace said; have you told anyone about this? Have you ever sought help from a professional?

I wouldn't be too worried about this, but it may be worth speaking to a professional in-case this gets more serious. It probably won't, but it's always best to check. If it turns out there's nothing wrong then yes, you are a very special butterfly. :p

Welcome to Confab-It!

I agree with the above posters that you should probably try talking to someone professional.

I ,luckily, don't smoke or take any thing unusual, no offense taken btw.

Also I am going to be taking a drawing class this year, (one of the few things that I am exited about.) I do hope, as you said, this will help put my mind to rest.
And thanks to your reply I feel some what better:D...... So thanks again....

It's good that drawing can help you but I'm sure it wont take everything away, just try and think of something else when your down in the dumps.

Thanks btw...

That sounds GREAT!

I think you will be a lot more settled then and being with others who share the same interest will be fantastic. I am sure things will work out very well for you. :)

Have you recently come out of a stressful exam period?
Nope, my exams ended before the last week of school. Eh, maybe it is just 'summer time limbo'.

thanks for the reply

Hi Syn99!
I've had some experience with mental issues myself. May I ask how old you are?

Old enough to pass the requirements for this website and too young to drive.
